02 — About

A decade of
building

Richelieu Consulting is the practice of John Delfau — a French-American operator with over ten years of experience building and scaling companies from the inside.

John Delfau

John has spent his career at the operational core of high-growth companies — not advising from the outside, but embedded in the work. He's built teams, designed systems, managed boards, and navigated the specific chaos that comes when a company is growing faster than its infrastructure can handle.

As Chief of Staff at Stacks, a Layer 1 blockchain protocol built on Bitcoin, he managed cross-functional execution across engineering, legal, and business development — operating at the intersection of decentralized infrastructure, institutional relationships, and a rapidly evolving regulatory environment.

His earlier career included a Head of Operations & Strategy role at a high-growth technology company, where he scaled operations through a private equity exit — building the organizational systems and reporting infrastructure that made that outcome possible.

John holds advanced degrees in law, and undergraduate education at la Sorbonne in Paris. He is fluent in French, English, and Spanish, and brings a distinctly international perspective to every engagement.
